Tears … of Joy?

This is utterly bizarre. Romney appears to have responded to the controversy over his recent trainwreck of a speech on religion, and the widespread criticism of his inaction in the face of his Church’s apartheid policy in its priesthood (which made it into Frank Rich’s column today – Rachel has the state of play), by appearing on MPT and tearing up when explaining that he (silently and privately, apparently) wept tears of joy when that race ban was lifted in 1978. Race in America was less emotional in September, as I recall, but now – it’s a real tearjerker. Update: Oh dear sweet lord, please make it stop.
