“An All Around Excellent Restaurant”

18 Nov ’07

Can I say that I’m awfully proud of our friend Garner Quain for the review that Frank Bruni gave his Charlottetown restaurant, flex mussels, in today’s NYT: “It’s an all-around excellent restaurant with a serious chef, Garner Quain, who has put together an extensive menu of seafood including clever tweaks of classics.” It is so darned exciting to see hard work and passion pay off. He must be over the moon. Update: I missed this the first time – the audio slideshow on the page is worth checking out, not least because it includes a piece on Johnny Flynn, who runs the Colville Bay Oyster Co. Johnny and his now world famous oysters are about 15 minutes down the road from where we spend the summer, so we’ve become big fans.
