More on Philadelphia’s MuniWiFi

Shawn McCarthy writes today in the Globe on Philadelphia’s plunge into muniwifi. Why is it that only users, journalists and geeks can see the wisdom of this? Where are the telcos – other than lobbying to shut down muniwifi and busy protecting their cellular franchises – on creating these networks?
