Home Technology is too Complicated, Redux

I’m repeating myself – but time and again these days I see examples of this problem – wi-fi in this case, and reminders of how smart it would be for someone to develop a different way – wouldn’t it be cool if someone developed a brand of home technology products that actually worked, and were easy to use?  Sure they wouldn’t have all of the cutting-edge features that almost no one uses – but there would be no "flashing 12’s" – the flashing 12:00 lights on VCR’s that so plagued us in the 90’s – either, and when you turned the products on – <gasp> – they would do what their manufacturers and retailers claimed they could do, and you could spend your time actually using them.

Imagine, for example, if Apple made everything ….
