“Microsoft Sets Deadline for Yahoo to Make Deal”
About a week or two after the original MSFT offer for YHOO, when it appeared that YHOO was going to be coy, I twittered that MSFT ought to serve up notice that failing immediate capitulation it would start reducing the offer. I was only being half-serious – that’s hardly cricket. But still, anyone serious saw the writing on the wall. Anyone other than the YHOO board, that is. Now it appears MSFT is making just that threat. I think this is still silly season stuff, but it’s also a clear shot across the bow. Lawyer up!
