Is there going to be a rebound on the coverage of Pastor Jeremiah Wright when America collects its collective wits? I hope so. So far, much of the coverage has been focussed on pretending that America does not still have problems with racism that are core to its identity, and has had a “get him, he’s uppity” quality to it. I can’t imagine why a Black preacher would speak out about racial injustice in America - I just can’t imagine.
