Political Cognitive Dissonance
I’ve certainly read a boatload about the cognitive dissonance people experience when they encounter views that are different from their own, and much has been written about how that element of human behaviour has fuelled the entire talk radio industry, Fox News, and so on, but here’s an interesting piece about how agreeing with yourself gets addictive.
