That’s what I think about The Wire, in a nutshell. It’s far too rare that one discovers TV designed for anything other than imbecilification. This show is a revelation.

Dexter? Californication? Battlestar Galactica? There are others, but these happen to be shows that I follow.
There is more good storytelling occurring on TV these days than ever before, I think, and most of it is happening on the premium, as opposed to the ad-supported commercial, outlets. Coincidenza? I think not.
I *love* Battlestar Galactica - great tip - though I am a season behind now. I’ve heard awesome things about Dexter, and remember the lead actor very well from Six Feet Under. Californication is new to me - thanks for the suggestion.
