“The person who creates should work for free. That’s fundamentally what these people are arguing,” he said. Oh, well done!

Who are these people who, as David Baskin says, are arguing that everything should be free? For the life of me I can’t recall a single person ever making that argumnent. The only way what Baskin says can be true is if we count every act of downloading music without paying for it as an “argument” in favour of giving things away. Baskin’s blowing smoke here, in an effort to draw attanetion away from those pwople who want balanced copyright laws.
Tried and true method for discrediting your opponent, of course: demonize them by attributing to them extreme behaviour, and set up straw men that are easy to knock down. It’s trivial, but often effective. I think that’s one of the opportunities offered by the Intarweb and social media - using the power of the community and instant information to correct misinformation.
