“Comcast Must Die”

8 Dec ’07

What began as a humble blog post has become a jeremiad for Bob Garfield, in which the author, seeking a consumer jihad, lamented the extraordinarily crappy service that Comcast has inflicted on him, and has created a phenomenon.

Interesting thing, though – he says (in the latest edition of On The Media) that he’s received about 1,200 comments on the topic, and that many of those who’ve commented, telling their own tales of Comcast woe, have been immediately contacted by the company with promises of prompt service, and have said that the prompt service has changed the way they think about the company.

Check out the dedicated site for more, and note that Garfield is hosting a live show on the issue on December 11th, 2007 at 9 pm EST. Garfield will interview Harry Shearer, Ralph Nader, blogger Jeff Jarvis (of Dell Hell fame) and Mona “The Hammer Lady” Shaw, and will take “emails and calls, angry and otherwise, about Comcast, consumerism and the power of e-surrection”.
