The Really Rather Remarkable Techmeme and Memeorandum
I’ve taken some shots over the last few months at the depth of flufflegubble one sees on the main geek aggregator sites these days, but haven’t really given credit where credit is really due, and today something happened that really brought home to me how much credit is due. My recently renewed love affair with Firefox is continuing unabated, and today I rediscovered the wonders of Session Manager, a great extension that allows you to save browsing sessions, including as your default launch config.
All well and good, but I realized after I set it up that two of the pages I put in my default were created by Gabe Rivera - Techmeme and Memeorandum. Many others are equally dependent on those sites. Whatever one thinks of the impact aggregation is having on browsing, that kind of impact is remarkable. I have no idea how well Gabe is doing on the financial side, but he deserves to do well.

Thanks Rob, glad you find them valuable. As for financials, I think 2008 will be the year I finally splurge on business cards of the non-free variety.
Glad to hear it, Gabe. As for financials, natch you want to keep a lid on it, but you must be pushing a load of pages, and I for one would not mind ads at all. :)
