I had not realized that LSUC had approved outsourcing. Interesting, and thanks for the update. I had not realized that LSUC had approved outsourcing.

Subject to client disclosure and consent and appropriate management, regulators are approving outsourcing. The LSUC has. The NY Bar has a written opinion on it. Can someone not licensed in Ontario essentially practice law in Ontario by drafting commercial agreements? Rob, is outsourcing legal work even permitted under the Rules? We had a horrible experience with outsourcing some web development to India; late work (by months), poor communication, shoddy code - I have a looong list of issues with the work we outsourced. Two of us ended up staying up overnights for five months on Messenger with the developers before we pulled the plug on outsourced development. Other firms we've talked to have had similar experiences with outsourcing. The *only* good thing about it was we were paying $0.20 on the dollar. Be very careful about doing this - the headaches (for us at least) far outweighed the cost savings. Good luck with that.
