“Sliming Wolfowitz”

Hitchens’ essay on Paul Wolfowitz is mandatory reading - and just about the only intelligent piece I’ve read so far - on the Wolfowitz-RIza matter. I can’t help but suspect that this episode has been inflated by Bank employees annoyed at Wolfowitz for trying to shake things up at the Bank, and member countries annoyed at him for pursuing corruption as vigorously as he has.

Please. The is PAUL WOLFOWITZ we are talking about, who is one of the architects of the worst foreign policy disaster in American history. A guy as crooked as the Mississippi River. A guy who forced the taxpayers to pick up his grlfriend’s inflated salary.

Geez, why don’t you take a look at his track record of corruption and stupidity? It’s nolt like it’s any secret what he’s been up to for eh last few years.

What is there to like about this moronic, corrupt insult to the human race?

Criticizing him on the salary issue because of what you think about Iraq is intellectually dishonest. Claiming that he “forced the taxpayers to pick up his grlfriend’s inflated salary” in spite of the facts - ditto.

    I agree. Wofowitz is slime.
