More Blog Trouble from Katie Couric
Rachel Sklar’s eagle eye picks up a bizarre repetition on Katie Couric’s blog of the debunked Obama madrassa smear, and more generally, a troubling detachment from both objectivity and reality in its description of Obama’s religious background. Go Rachel Go. (And yes, Rachel is coming to mesh.)

Recycling discredited information is bad enough, but I’m also troubled by the way Couric seeks to exploit fear.
She begins: “Is America ready to elect a president who grew up praying in a mosque?”
According to CNN which cites his two books, Obama says that while he lived in Indonesia as a child he attended a Muslim school for two years and a Catholic school for two years.
So an alternative to Couric’s intro could have been:
“Is America ready to elect a president who grew up with experience of two of the world’s largest religions?”
But people might actually answer “yes”.
My reaction exactly. Hard to understand how the blog commentary was a reasonable perspective. And not clueless, but spun quite deliberately.
