Charges Under the Employment Standards Act
Mike Fitzgibbon wonders about whether charges under the Ontario Employment Standards Act are on the rise, and notes a recent case over outstanding wages not paid in a timely fashion in which the employer was charged a $7,500 per count fine, plus a 25% victim fee surcharge. If you’re an employer in Ontario, know your obligations under the ESA.
