Socializr launches today – it’s in gamma only (whatever that means these days), but still my first impression of at least the design was that it was very 2002. And I still don’t really see how this is anything other than Evite 0.5.

Agreed. You should check out Planypus (yes..it’s my own startup :-)…we actually have a way for you to quickly and easily make plans with your friends. It’s cool because you don’t have to come up with the details, they can suggest times and places, vote, it’s like a wiki but live!
