Macleans’ Secret Weapon

Is Scott Feschuk. No bones about it - (faint praise, perhaps, but) he’s the best thing to happen to RSS in Canada in a very long time.

Ok. I am generally one to let things slide. But I just have to say something here First MacLean’s was the magazine that had an issue devoted to how much the Internet sucked right? Anyway - that’s really beside the point. Je digress …

I went and subscribed to Scott’s blog.

    Ouch.

I believe it has been said many times - the more the Net is like TV the less we need it. His blog is like an electronic sign at an ADD conference.

Entertainment Tonight type crap is fine for the TV junkies with enough brain power and attention span to tap into a sentence - but shouldn’t we be holding a higher standard online? Like, maybe a paragraph. or two. maybe something to let us read, digest and follow. Some insight?

Man. I don’t need “Quotable Quotes” online. Save the soundbites for the media. They deserve them.

Well, I think there’s a lot of what you’re looking for out there already, Mose. It’s not hard to find. And I certainly agree that Scott’s not his most interesting when he’s writing ET-type content, but I still enjoy his sense of humour, and think we need more of it.
