I'd like to get down there, take a guided tour and find out what's really going on from the rangers themselves. Spoiler ... according to the internet, and specifically Wikipedia, the Grand Canyon may be less than 5 or 6 million years old. (Caveats: the article implies that dating the age of the Grand Canyon is a challenging geologic exercise; and, we all know that Wikipedia is unreliable, so stick with the other dates that are out there if needing something official. Better yet, make one up. Geology doesn't really know anyway.) Yah, that NPS stance is absolutely absurd.
