Ode to the Pearl
Om writes on slim phones and confesses his love for the new Blackberry Pearl. I’m confessin’ my love as well - this is the best phone and PDA I’ve ever owned. I also get, after switching from Bell Mobility to Rogers, the added benefit of better call quality on GSM - which, after everything I’d heard in the trades about the supposed superior quality of CDMA, came as quite a shock.
The Pearl is astoundingly well mannered as a phone and a PDA. My only complaint is the RIM is still muzzling IMAP email capability on its devices - presumably to keep its near-enterprise customers unaware of how effective IMAP can be as a tool for keeping your email in sync across different devices. In time, perhaps - in time.
