Now We Know Where Blog Traffic is Coming From


It seems clear that attention is gradually moving online from offline pursuits such as TV watching, but I’ve wondered for a while whether the explosive growth in blogs and the attention they attract is also draining traffic from other locations on the web. Mike Arrington posts today on what must be disheartening news for the folks at CNet - its traffic is getting hammered. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the ‘in-between’ sites like CNet - part geek playground, part serious news - are losing traffic to the ’sphere, particularly to the bloggers that cover similar turf, such as Engadget and others.
