Bush’s New War on Terror

Predictably, cowardly pandering to the fundamentalists’ terror of all things gay now appears to be the Republicans’ strategy for maintaining their increasingly tenuous grip on power. Because what Americans need now, more than anything else, is to turn against each other. Because what the U.S. needs now, more than anything else, is a “compassionate conservative” who’s a “uniter, not a divider”. The stage is now set for a leader who can assert moral leadership over a nation that has quite simply lost its way.
