A Patent War Over Remote Desktop Technology

01 Communique is suing Citrix for patent infringement in the U.S. over GoToMyPC and other products. I’m a little surprised – GoToMyPC has been in the market for quite a while, as have pcAnywhere, VNC, Microsoft’s Remote Desktop and others, so I would have thought the prior art was abundant. But as networking and collaborative working grow in importance, the role of remote desktop technology can’t be understated – this was probably inevitable.
