Staying Connected on the Road
The NYT has a piece today with tips on staying connected while travelling. It includes advice on celphones, rate plans, email access, using a firewall and electrical current. Nothing new here, but also keep in mind the information about using hotel broadband I posted recently, and if you don’t use one already, consider using a VPN to access the net from your hotel room, even if as simply as using services such as Anonymizer.
Walt Mossberg recently wrote on staying connected over a vacation without his laptop - the article also contains some useful suggestions.
Finally, Om Malik writes today on several startups that are trying to develop credible solutions for bringing desktop access to handhelds.
