More on Metadata
Dennis reprises his metadata posts after an NYT interview (congratulations, Mr. Kennedy!) following a recent MS Word metadata embarrassment involving Samuel Alito, the nominee for Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. It’s hard to believe that this is still news, but I suppose it is. I’ve taken to reminding clients by rote not to send out their documents until they’ve purged metadata. Very rarely does anyone know what I’m talking about.
Dennis has posts that explain how to deal with this. Dan Pinnington of LPIC in Ontario also writes frequently on the topic, most recently here.
Interesting note: bloggers are once again out in front of a story - the Alito metadata case was apparently broken by conservative bloggers.
