Privacy Breaches and Fax Floods, Redux

10-11-05 · 0 comments

In an episode oddly reminiscent of the CIBC junkyard fax case, a Colorado man has been besieged by hundreds of misdirected faxes from Amazon.com’s corporate credit department. “The invoices contain account numbers, credit limits and other financial information for schools, businesses and organizations around the country.” His attempts to contact customer service seem to have dead-ended with frustrated outsourced customer service in India. The credit department was outsourced to Citibank, so fingerpointing follies followed. Details here.

I think we’ve found the storyline for the next Terry Gilliam movie.
