TiVO in Canada?
TiVO is apparently now coming to Canada – several years after its introduction in the U.S. and well after the sometimes near-reverential buzz the product at one time generated has been almost entirely exhausted. In the US, a flag is going to be added to allow broadcasters to delete your saved programs, and TiVO is requiring a one year commitment, enforced by a $150 penalty. Not sure how this plays out in Canada.
Details on current attitudes about TiVO in the US are on episode #23 and 24 of the TWiT podcast.
