Lloyds to Offer Open Source Insurance
The Register reports that the venerable Lloyd’s of London has launched open source insurance. The insurance protects corporate open source users from IP infringement claims – in many cases the vendor / developer does not provide an IP infringement indemnity, is thought to have inadequate financial depth to fulfill the indemnity, or does not protect the part of the software they did not write.
