Open Source and Contracts
Joi Ito has an interesting post (and see the comments) on why open source code is like contracts.
Many of the contracts I’ve seen were unabashedly borrowed literally from someone else. This is as it should be, of course, assuming the client is only charged the incremental cost of the work, or a fixed fee.
