Make Privacy Breaches Reportable
Ontario’s Privacy Commissioner has called for a new law to require businesses to report privacy breaches. The concept is modelled after a California law passed in the early stages of recent US breaches. It seems clear now that the law creates a powerful incentive for higher standards of care in data protection.
