Science Still Has a Lot to Learn From Star Trek
News from the BBC today that researchers have developed a new model of time travel that uses quantum mechanics to explain one of the more difficult paradoxes of time travel - that if we were to travel back in time we might disturb the past, which might change the present.
The new view seems to be - er, well - you can’t change the past - that’s why they call it the “past”.
Is there more to this than smart-alecky physicists, trying to see whether we’ve been paying attention to Star Trek (which taught us that we can change the past - just as long as we change it back before we return)???
