Indonesia to Use SMS for Disaster Warnings
This is the coolest news I’ve read in ages – fresh from the catastrophe of the tsunami and recent earthquake, Indonesian officials are apparently considering using SMS to warn people of impending disasters. A brilliant and profound implication for an always-on, always connected society, even (in that part of the world, anyway) in remote areas.
