Regulation of Cable Broadband Providers Before US Supreme Court
Apropos of recent posts here on whether the time is right for regulation in Canada of broadband internet access (to address concerns about market concentration in the hands of a couple of large players – in Ontario, Rogers and Bell), the US Supreme Court heard arguments yesterday after the Grokster hearing on whether the cable broadband providers ought to be subject to the same regulatory regime as the telcos. There is a lot of great coverage on the web today including Law.com, Wired, SiliconValley.com, Om Malik and Media Access Project.
