All Business has an article on common legal mistakes made by small businesses. It’s an interesting – though pretty basic – resource, though I am always quick to remind clients that while one doesn’t want to invite risk, one always has to take a hard look at the expected payback from spending your resources on legal work – resources in small business being very limited, and also keeping in mind that many of the articles one reads on the horrors that can happen to you if you don’t spend lots of money on legal advice are – natch – written by lawyers trying to sell their advice.
One point though:
"Make sure your contracts are well thought out, drafted in your favor and give you flexibility and protection."
I hope both sides of the deal aren’t reading the same article.
