Yet Another Tale of Large IT Project Failure

29 Jan ’05

Simon Helm has a post that tells another story of large IT project failures, this time in the UK.  Money quote:

The thing is, not all of the government’s IT projects have worked out. Several ambitious IT projects have fallen apart after hundreds of millions of pounds have been funnelled into them. One of the most spectacular failures is the IT system used by the Child Support Agency. Now MPs are threatening to scrap the whole agency as a result of continuing IT problems. A parliamentary committee has floated the idea out of frustration with the overwhelming IT problems at the agency.
