An eWeek piece on a forecast of annual savings from a U.S. national electronic health information system. The piece notes that much of the gain would be dependant on the extent to which systems are interoperable. We have many other more pressing priorities in Canadian health care reform, but one cannot help but imagine how much more efficient our health care system would be with deep IT system integration.
